About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Welding & Project Coordination (WPC) Engineer to lead welding engineering and project coordination activities across offshore pipeline and subsea construction projects. The role is responsible for managing welding-related engineering, qualification programs, installation support, project execution monitoring, and technical problem-solving to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Welding Engineering & Technical Assurance

  • Lead welding engineering activities throughout project preparation and execution phases.
  • Review project specifications, welding requirements, NDT requirements, line pipe requirements, and fabrication documentation.
  • Develop and review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), qualification programs, execution plans, weld maps, method statements, and installation procedures.
  • Provide technical evaluations, clarifications, and deviations for project execution and tendering activities.

Project Coordination & Offshore Execution

  • Act as the focal point between Project Teams, Clients, Operations, and Engineering disciplines on welding-related matters.
  • Coordinate welding, NDT, FJC, QA/QC, and operational activities to optimise installation productivity and offshore execution performance.
  • Monitor project progress, cycle times, weld repairs, weld cut-outs, and downtime to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Track planned versus actual performance to ensure project schedules and objectives are achieved.

Cost, Performance & Risk Management

  • Monitor project costs, schedules, and resource utilisation to support efficient project delivery.
  • Participate in risk assessments and develop solutions for welding-related technical and operational challenges.
  • Analyse welding performance and implement measures to improve productivity while minimising repairs and rework.
  • Support lessons learned initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Interface with Clients, Main Contractors, Subcontractors, and Vendors throughout project execution.
  • Support vendor and subcontractor performance evaluations and technical reviews.
  • Ensure project documentation, records, and deliverables are maintained accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in project meetings, technical reviews, and execution planning discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Welding/Mechanical/Materials/Metallurgical or related disciplines.
  • Professional Certifications: International Welding Engineer (IWE), AWS Certified Welding Engineer (AWS-CWE), Chartered Engineer in Welding Engineering or equivalent.
  • Added Advantage: CSWIP 3.1/3.2, NDT and coating certifications.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in Welding Engineering, NDT, Quality Control, or Offshore Installation Projects.
  • Experience supporting offshore pipeline installation, subsea construction, welding qualification programs, and project execution activities.
  • Exposure to project bidding, tendering, productivity monitoring, and technical-commercial assessments will be an advantage.
  • Experience working with international Oil & Gas clients and multidisciplinary project teams is highly desirable.
