Our client is a local startup established to take over and manage an SEO project from a Taiwan team.
The client provides Baidu SEO services to its own clients, and this role will be responsible for managing and delivering SEO services for those external client accounts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy Planning & Execution
- Develop and execute Baidu SEO strategies based on company business goals, target audience and product positioning.
- Create and manage SEO roadmaps, implementation plans and timelines.
- Oversee on-page and off-page SEO activities, including keyword research, content optimisation, website structure optimisation, link building and sitemap management.
2. Keyword Research & Content Optimisation
- Use tools such as Baidu Index (), Baidu Webmaster Tools (), Baidu Tongji (), and other analytics platforms to conduct in-depth keyword research.
- Identify high-value, high-conversion keywords relevant to business objectives.
- Work closely with the content team to:
- Plan and optimise SEO-friendly content for Baidu
- Ensure content is original, high quality, and meets Baidu's ranking and indexing standards
- Own TDK (Title, Description, Keywords) optimisation and internal linking strategy to improve crawlability and rankings.
3. Technical SEO
- Collaborate with developers to resolve technical SEO issues, including:
- Site speed and performance
- Mobile compatibility (MIP / H5)
- Structured data markup
- Duplicate content & canonical tags
- HTTP status codes, redirects and crawl errors
- Ensure the website architecture supports efficient crawling and indexing by Baidu.
4. Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Use Baidu Webmaster Tools () and Baidu Tongji () to monitor:
- Organic traffic
- Keyword rankings
- Bounce rate & user behaviour
- Conversion performance
- Prepare regular SEO performance reports and insights for internal stakeholders.
- Based on data analysis, propose concrete optimisation plans and experiments to continuously improve results.
5. Algorithm Updates & Risk Management
- Keep up to date with Baidu algorithm updates (e.g. , , , etc.).
- Quickly adjust SEO strategies and tactics to comply with the latest algorithm requirements.
- Monitor and prevent potential SEO risks and penalties, and lead recovery actions if needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, IT, Business, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on SEO experience, focusing on Baidu / China market.
- Solid understanding of:
- Baidu search behaviour and ranking factors
- On-page, off-page and technical SEO best practices
- Practical experience with:
- Baidu Index (), Baidu Webmaster Tools (), Baidu Tongji ()
- Other analytics or SEO tools (e.g. similar web / log analysis / crawling tools).
- Able to collaborate effectively with content, design, product and development teams.
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable working with data and performance metrics.
- Strong Mandarin (reading & writing) is required, as daily work, communication and content are mainly in Chinese.
