Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1.        Lead technical discovery with customers to understand their current device landscape, support processes, and business goals, and identify opportunities for DaaS and managed services.

2.        Design complete solutions that combine devices, lifecycle services (deployment, support, refresh, secure recovery) and cloud/SaaS platforms such as endpoint management and security. May involve multi-vendor hardware (laptops, workstations, servers, appliances) and integrated network security (firewalls, IoT).

3.        Lead the deployment strategies for SaaS solutions, including M365, MDM (Intune/Scalefusion etc.), and endpoint security (EPP,EDR, XDR) etc.

4.        Develop and oversee SOPs for device deployment, proactive maintenance, and NIST 800-88 compliant data sanitization for end-of-life cycles.

5.        Prepare proposals, solution overviews, BOMs/BOQs, and SOWs, and collaborate with commercial teams on pricing and cost models aligned to Rentalworks 3R and sustainability value proposition.

6.        Deliver clear, compelling presentations, demos, and technical workshops to IT teams and business stakeholders including management/C suite.

7.        Lead technical sections of RFP/RFI/RFQ responses and tenders, ensuring compliance with requirements and highlighting our differentiators in lifecycle management and ESG impact. Involvement with Proof of Concepts (PoC).

8.        Work with operations/delivery teams to validate feasibility, capacity, and transition plans, ensuring smooth handover from pre sales to implementation and ongoing service.

9.        Provide internal enablement to sales colleagues on solution positioning, key features, and objection handling for DaaS, managed services, and related SaaS offerings.

10.     Maintain up to date knowledge of hardware OEMs, SaaS vendors, and market pricing, and contribute to standard solution templates and reference architectures for Rentalworks.

 

11.      R&D: Drive the adoption of emerging tech within our services, such as local RAG/LLM infrastructure (Sovereign AI) and FOSS-based enterprise desktops (MacOS, SUSE, Ubuntu etc).

 

 

Requirements & Qualifications

1.        Experience in pre sales, solutions engineering, systems integration, or infrastructure consulting is preferred, ideally with exposure to DaaS/PCaaS, managed services, or ICT solutions.

2.        Good understanding of enterprise devices and infrastructure: endpoints (laptops, desktops, workstations), servers, network switches/Wi Fi, firewall appliances, basic IoT and NPU-integrated AI PCs. Proficiency in Network & Security appliances (e.g. Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco) is preferred.

3.        Familiarity with OS deployment and endpoint management (e.g., imaging, MDM/EMM, patch management) and security controls (AV/EDR, encryption, VPN, MFA). Experience with FOSS (Linux) in a corporate environment is a significant advantage.

4.        Exposure to SaaS/ cloud concepts, especially web based management platforms, multi tenant models, subscription licensing, and basic cloud architecture and security.

5.        Ability to produce solution diagrams and high-quality technical documentation for proposals and tenders.

Profile Requirements:

1.          Diploma/Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands on experience).

2.          Relevant vendor certifications (e.g., OEM devices, Microsoft, networking, and security) are an advantage. Professional certifications (MCSE, CCNA, or ITIL) are highly preferred

3.          Strong communication and presentation skills; able to translate technical designs into business value for non-technical stakeholders.

4.          Consultative and analytical, with the ability to connect customer business outcomes including cost, productivity, and ESG with solution design.

5.          Collaborative team player who can work effectively with sales, operations, finance, and vendor partners in a fast moving environment.

6.          Highly organised, able to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously.
