Service Engineer

AVA Energy are supporting our client who are looking for an experienced Service Engineer to support the maintenance, repair and overhaul of electric Motors, Generators and rotating electrical equipment across Malaysia. This is a hands-on, field-focused role ideal for someone with a strong electrical or mechanical background who enjoys site work and problem-solving.

The Role:

As a Service Engineer, you will work directly at customer sites and workshops, carrying out inspection, fault diagnosis, repair and commissioning of rotating equipment used in power generation, oil & gas, manufacturing and heavy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out on-site and workshop servicing of electric motors and generators
• Fault finding, diagnostics and root-cause analysis on rotating equipment
• Overhaul, inspection and repair of LV & HV motors and generators
• Support installation, alignment, testing and commissioning activities
• Complete service reports and technical documentation
• Liaise with customers to explain findings, recommendations and repairs
• Support planned maintenance, breakdown response and shutdown activities
• Work in compliance with safety, quality and company procedures

What We're Looking For:

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Proven experience servicing motors, generators or rotating machinery
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and repair capability
• Experience with insulation testing, vibration
• Willingness to travel within Malaysia
