Job Description: ServiceNow Developer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated ServiceNow Developer to join our team in Petaling Jaya. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and customizing the ServiceNow platform to meet business requirements. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize workflows, integrations, and user experiences across various ServiceNow modules.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Customize: Design, develop, and implement custom applications and enhancements on the ServiceNow platform using JavaScript, GlideScript, and ServiceNow APIs.
• Collaborate: Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
• Write Quality Code: Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices.
• Conduct Code Reviews: Perform code reviews and quality checks to ensure high standards.
• Troubleshoot: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve ServiceNow platform and application issues, providing technical guidance and support to users.
• Test Solutions: Create and execute test cases to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
• Document: Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, integrations, workflows, and solution designs.
• Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest ServiceNow releases, features, and industry trends, recommending continuous improvements to platform performance and user experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development and administration.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, and ServiceNow APIs.
• Solid understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture and core capabilities.
• Experience with ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Script Includes).
• Experience with workflows and Flow Designer.
• Knowledge of REST/SOAP integrations, MID Server, and IntegrationHub.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow modules, including ITSM and ITOM.

Methodology & Process Knowledge

• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or similar development methodologies.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer) are an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience with CMDB, CSDM, and Discovery.
• Experience building dashboards and reports using Platform Analytics.
• Experience with Service Portal or UI Builder customization.
