About the Role

We are looking for a fund accountant in a small team that provides trade, middle and back-office support to an investment fund/trading platform. Responsibilities

  • Provide trade support to Head of Trading, ensuring smooth settlement of trades with brokers and custodians
  • Deliver accurate and timely portfolio management reporting for the Capital team, including quarterly financials and P&L reporting on positions
  • Manage daily cash, trade, and FX management, settlement and reconciliations. Own every transaction
  • Support the preparation of monthly accounts, financial statements, and assist with coordination of audits
  • Handle tax compliance, filings, and management fee allocations across jurisdictions
  • Support KYC and onboarding of brokers, custodians, and other counterparties
  • Review and approve payments, expenses, VAT and GST returns
  • Maintain updates to the Capital Markets playbook and other documentation, as needed
  • Lodge votes in a timely manner for proxy voting and AGM
  • Perform other finance and operational tasks, as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA, CPA) is an advantage
  • Familiarity with both public markets and private markets
  • Strong knowledge of the trade lifecycle and solid understanding of settlement cycles
  • Practical experience working with custodians, brokers, and fund administrators
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial and P&L reporting, and tax regulations. Hands-on experience preparing management accounts, financial statements, and coordinating audits
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Possess big-picture strategy skills and in-the-trenches execution skills
  • Work effectively with modest support and guidance
  • Able to earn the trust of senior colleagues and stakeholders
  • Maintains a polished demeanour, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Meticulous, cautious and unfazed by impossible standards
  • Have an opinion, but know when restraint is appropriate

Administrative Details

Start date: Immediate preferred

Compensation: Competitive base salary

Benefits: Medical insurance; Annual leave

Education: University Degree; Professional Accounting Qualification is preferred

Experience: Indicatively, 5-8 years experience in Settlements, Finance Operations, or Fund Accounting within financial services

Languages: Excellent command of English required (written and spoken)

Reporting to Financial Controller
