Shariah Risk Analyst

We are seeking a Shariah Risk Analyst to support the Risk Management function in maintaining an effective and robust Shariah Risk Management framework across the Takaful business. The role is responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting Shariah Non-Compliance (SNC) risks, while promoting a strong risk culture and ensuring compliance with regulatory and Shariah governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous enhancement of the Shariah Risk Management (SRM) framework across the organization.
• Develop, review, and maintain Shariah Risk Management policies and procedures for Takaful business operations.
• Collaborate with business and support functions to proactively identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate Shariah Non-Compliance (SNC) risks.
• Review and assess new products, business initiatives, processes, and system enhancements to identify potential SNC risks and recommend appropriate controls.
• Monitor SNC incidents and events, validate corrective actions, and maintain accurate records and reporting.
• Assist in assessing the financial and operational impact of SNC events, including income de-recognition arising from non-compliant activities.
• Prepare and support periodic SNC risk reporting to Management, Shariah Committees, and Board Committees.

Risk Governance & Advisory

• Partner with business stakeholders to strengthen risk awareness and embed effective Shariah risk management practices.
• Support the promotion and implementation of the Group Risk Management Framework within the organization.
  Provide risk analysis, review, and challenge to business units on matters relating to Shariah risk and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Professional Certification in Shariah, Islamic Finance, or related field.
• Additional training or certifications in Enterprise Risk Management, Governance, Risk, or Compliance disciplines.
