Shift A4 Chargeman

Position Summary:The Shift A4 Chargeman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all electrical operations and maintenance activities during the A4 shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable electrical system operations across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

The Shift A4 Chargeman oversees the electrical distribution system, ensuring continuous power supply to all facility areas while maintaining compliance with electrical safety regulations and standards. This role involves supervising electrical technicians, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and responding to electrical emergencies during the assigned shift.

Daily duties include monitoring electrical systems through building management systems, conducting rounds to inspect electrical equipment, and troubleshooting power distribution issues. The Chargeman coordinates work permits for electrical maintenance, ensures proper lockout/tagout procedures are followed, and maintains detailed logs of all electrical incidents and maintenance activities.

The position requires collaboration with other shift supervisors to ensure seamless handovers, coordination with contractors for major electrical work, and communication with facility management regarding system performance and improvement opportunities. The Chargeman also trains junior electrical staff, enforces safety protocols, and manages emergency response procedures for electrical failures.

Required Qualifications:

• Recognized electrical qualification or Chargeman A4 license (jurisdiction-specific)
• Minimum 5-7 years of electrical maintenance experience in commercial or industrial facilities
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, and building electrical infrastructure
• Understanding of electrical safety codes and regulations
• Supervisory experience with proven team leadership capabilities

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with building management systems and electrical monitoring software
• Knowledge of energy management and power quality analysis
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
