We are a specialist contractor focused on slope stabilisation, earthworks, and geotechnical works. We are looking for a hands-on Site Engineer / Site Supervisor to join our team, based in Klang Valley with travel to various project sites across Malaysia. This role is ideal for someone with 2-4 years of construction experience who is keen to specialise in slope engineering and geotechnical works.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily site activities for slope protection and stabilisation works, including soil nailing, rock bolting, shotcrete/guniting, rubble walls, gabion walls, drainage works, and erosion control
- Ensure works are executed according to geotechnical design drawings, method statements, and specifications
- Liaise with geotechnical consultants, JKR/MBPJ/MBSJ or relevant local authorities, sub-contractors, and site workers
- Monitor slope monitoring instrumentation (inclinometers, piezometers, settlement markers) and report findings
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with CIDB, DOSH, and JKR slope safety guidelines (including JKR's Guidelines for Slope Design)
- Prepare daily site diaries, progress reports, and as-built records
- Coordinate material delivery (rebar, cement, geotextiles, drainage pipes, etc.) and manage site logistics on challenging terrain
- Enforce strict HSE standards, slope works carry elevated risks (working at heights, unstable ground, weather exposure)
- Attend site meetings with clients, consultants, and authorities
- Travel to project sites nationwide as required (highways, hillside developments, landslide remediation sites, etc.)
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
- 2 - 4 years of site experience, preferably in slope works, earthworks, retaining structures, or geotechnical construction
- Familiar with slope protection methods: soil nailing, shotcrete, rock bolting, gabion, geotextile, horizontal drains, etc.
- Able to read and interpret geotechnical drawings, borelogs, and method statements
- Familiar with JKR slope guidelines, CIDB, and DOSH requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
- Possess a valid Malaysian driving licence and own transport (mandatory), must be willing to travel and work at remote/hillside sites
- Physically fit and comfortable working on slopes and uneven terrain in outdoor conditions
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
