JOB OVERVIEW:
The Site Engineer is responsible for the on-site execution, supervision and quality assurance of civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentations workforce large-scale Solar PV and BESS projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.CONSTRUCTION & INSTALLATION SUPERVISION
- Supervise daily Solar PV and BESS construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, manpower, materials, equipment, and site logistics to achieve planned targets.
- Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and ITPs, while enforcing daily toolbox talks and site safety requirements.
2.QUALITY ASSURANCE & CONTROL
- Implement site QA/QC procedures, coordinate inspections, witness testing, maintain inspection records, and ensure compliance with approved specifications.
- Raise and close NCRs, manage punch lists for PV/BESS/substation works, and inspect critical equipment/materials before acceptance
3.TESTING & COMMISSIONING SUPPORT
- Coordinate and witness pre-commissioning, testing, and functional checks for Solar PV, BESS, protection relays, SCADA, and control systems in line with approved procedures.
- Ensure BESS safety systems are fully operational before energization, and prepare commissioning dossiers, test records, and as-built documents for client handover.
4.PLANNING, REPORTING & DOCUMENTATION
- Participate in daily and weekly planning meetings, providing updates on workfront readiness, constraints, resources, and progress against schedule.
- Prepare daily site reports and maintain accurate records including manpower, equipment usage, inspections, material traceability, photos, diaries, and as-built mark-ups.
5.PROCEDURE DEVELOPMENT
- Develop or support preparation of site-specific procedures including Method Statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for civil, mechanical, and electrical works.
- Prepare lifting plans and HSE procedures covering critical activities such as heavy equipment handling, work-at-height, electrical safety, and LOTO.
6.CONSULTANT COORDINATION
- Coordinate daily activities with Owner's Engineer (OE), Independent Engineer (IE), and consultants for inspections, audits, hold points, approvals, and key project milestones.
- Manage consultant comments, site schedules, required documentation, and close-out actions, including reports, inspection records, acceptance certificates, and handover dossiers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5–8 years of construction project execution experience.
- Minimum 3 years site-based experience in utility-scale Solar PV (>20MW) and/or BESS projects.
- Hands-on experience in at least three areas: civil works, mechanical installation, electrical installation, BESS systems, or MV/HV substation works.
- Experience preparing site procedures, Method Statements, or Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Experience coordinating with Owner's Engineer, Independent Engineer, or project consultants.
- Preferred certifications: PMP / Professional Engineer / CIDB / Safety certifications (WAH, Lifting, LOTO)
