Role Description:
We seek an experienced and efficient Site Engineer (Contract) for our project located at Port Klang, Selangor. As a site engineer, you will monitor diversified aspects of construction project management. This will include planning, coordination and supervision of on-site activities. You will ensure all aspects of the project align with engineering and design specifications, industry standards and construction regulations. You will also foster effective communication by liaising with contractors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
Contract:
Contract for 8 months. Commence on 01/06/2026 – 31/01/2027
Competency Requirement:
- A Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Site Engineer, Civil Engineer or an equivalent role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing and supervising construction projects.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD and other related software.
- Ability to manage construction projects at various stages of their lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulations.
- Competent in assessing, interpreting and presenting survey reports and other critical data for stakeholders and shareholders.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with effective communication.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Possess a driving license and be able to drive.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality - consistently arrives at work and meetings on time.
- Strong command of both written and spoken English and Malay.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure all site works, workmanship, and materials conform to approved drawings, specifications, and standards. Report discrepancies to the Resident Engineer/Project Manager and coordinate corrective actions with the Contractor.
- Review and implement site instructions, method statements, and engineering drawings. Verify that construction activities follow approved procedures and highlight any deviations before subsequent work proceeds.
- Conduct inspections at critical stages of construction to prevent defects and major rework. Prepare inspection reports and ensure rectifications are completed before works are covered.
- Prepare lists of issues requiring attention, communicate them to the Contractor's foreman, and verify rectifications. Maintain close coordination with the Resident Engineer and Project Manager.
- Attend and supervise major site activities to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain a daily site diary recording weather, progress of works, inspections, manpower, and any incidents. Submit daily reports to the Resident Engineer.
- Record minor variations affecting cost or progress and notify the Resident Engineer for approval.
- Report accidents or unsafe practices immediately to the Resident Engineer and document them in site records.
- Maintain updated drawings marked with dates of major works, site instructions, and changes.
- Keep records of contractor and subcontractor personnel on site, updating changes regularly.
- Keep the Resident Engineer informed of site matters affecting progress, quality, or safety.
- Report daily on the contractor's work planning and notify the Resident Engineer of any adjustments to work sequences.
- Undertake any other engineering or site-related tasks as directed by the Resident Engineer or Project Manager.
