Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Site Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating construction and installation activities, monitoring project progress, ensuring compliance with approved specifications and regulatory requirements, and supporting the successful delivery of projects, with a particular focus on solar PV and floating solar installations in accordance with SEDA, ST, and TNB requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and coordinate all construction and installation activities in accordance with approved-for-construction (AFC) drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
  • Monitor site progress, construction schedules, and contractor performance to ensure timely project execution.
  • Supervise the installation of solar PV modules, mounting structures, inverters, combiner boxes, DC/AC cabling, and associated balance-of-system components.
  • Supervise the installation of anchoring and mooring systems for floating solar platforms, ensuring compliance with approved structural and marine engineering designs.
  • Ensure all construction works are executed in accordance with the latest approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify solar panel orientation, tilt angles, string configurations, cable routing, and labelling in accordance with approved designs and single-line diagrams (SLD).
  • Monitor and witness testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance, IV curve testing, earthing tests, and related inspections.
  • Support quality control activities and ensure compliance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
  • Maintain and submit accurate Daily Progress Reports (DPR), highlighting project status, site activities, and key issues.
  • Identify and escalate project delays, manpower shortages, technical issues, and site-related challenges to management for timely resolution.
  • Enforce site safety requirements and ensure compliance with DOSH regulations, project HSE plans, electrical safety standards, and working-at-height procedures.
  • Report and assist in the investigation of incidents, near-misses, and non-conformance reports (NCR).

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction site supervision, including at least 2 years in solar PV or renewable energy projects. Experience in Large-Scale Solar (LSS) or floating solar projects will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of construction practices, site supervision, and contractor management.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, progress monitoring, and site coordination.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance at construction sites.
  • Ability to coordinate stakeholders, prepare reports, and resolve site issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of solar PV systems, EPCC processes, and grid interconnection requirements.
  • Familiarity with TNB technical requirements, including NEM, NMbE, and LSS grid connection standards.
  • Basic knowledge of SCADA and monitoring systems will be an added advantage.
