Skills Therapist

Job description

We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to be trained as Skills Therapists to support neurodivergent individuals (Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome) and families in learning skills for a meaningful life.

You'll be part of a small and heart-driven team, working alongside experienced members to drive positive changes in families lives.

Key Responsibilities:

•⁠ Design and implement play and learning sessions for learners focusing on developing self-management, social communication, social-emotional regulation, and living skills according to the Individualised Education Plan and Programmes.

•⁠ Deliver the learning through a therapeutic approach to skill-building, addressing individual needs and fostering personal growth through a transdisciplinary approach.

•⁠ ⁠Plan and conduct one-on-one and group sessions for neurodivergent learners (ages 2 years old to adulthood), inclusive of Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Down Syndrome and other social-communication disabilities.

•⁠ Support and communicate with learners parents and family members.

•⁠ Provide support for external stakeholders (e.g school teachers, community helpers, etc.) to support our learners.

•⁠ Learning happens in-house, at learner's home and out in the community. We are actively out in the community with our learners.

•⁠ ⁠Work and learn directly from experienced multidisciplinary Supervisors teams (e.g. Behaviour Analyst, Speech Language Therapist Consultant, Occupational Therapist Consultant, Counsellor, Clinical Psychologist, School Teachers), internal and external, to deliver transdisciplinary learning for learners.

•⁠ Track progress with data collection, reports and session notes.

•⁠ Work across multiple teams under the guidance of Supervisors.

•⁠ Organise outings, activities and events for learners to enhance their life experiences.

•⁠ Attend regular trainings, workshops and conferences.

Qualifications:

MUST have

•⁠ ⁠Interest and passion in working with children and young individuals.

•⁠ Passion for making a difference in the lives of others and the community.

•⁠ ⁠Strong self management and life skills since you'll be teaching others how to build theirs!

•⁠ Excited about learning and continuous growth. Open for new and continuous learning.

⁠NICE to have

•⁠ Bachelor degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, or a related field (relevant experience may be considered). Additional certification in ABAT or RBT is an added advantage. BCaBA and Q-ASPS are welcome to apply for a more senior role!

•⁠ Fresh graduates or experienced, as long as you're passionate about making a change, are welcome to apply!

•⁠ ⁠Good understanding of neurodiversity and respecting differences.

•⁠ ⁠Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.

•⁠ ⁠Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
