We Are Looking For

The Smart Hands Engineer provides on-site, hands-and-eyes support for customers and internal teams by performing physical tasks within the data centre, including equipment installation, cabling, hardware replacement, reboots, and troubleshooting. This role is essential for maintaining up time, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in a critical environment and act as Network Operations Centre key personnel overseeing the entire Data Center Monitoring System.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure continuity and service availability of critical infrastructure during shift operations
  • Monitor, resolve and update all Operations-assigned service tickets (trouble tickets and customer request) throughout the daily shift
  • Perform power verification and break-fix at server
  • Promote knowledge sharing and team coordination across shifts
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities system
  • Back up routine inspections, minor repairs, coordinate calibration of critical systems and suggest improvement initiatives
  • Assist on technical maintenance and troubleshooting activities associated with mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and cooling systems
  • Asist to maintain accurate logs, checklists, and records for daily operations and preventive maintenance
  • Support audits, regulatory inspections, and customer visits by preparing documents and facilitating site access
  • Trigger escalation and keep response time specified in incident management
  • Ensure compliance with operational protocols, ISO standards, HSE and all regulatory laws and guidelines, including licenses and certifications
  • Back up to coordinate daily activities of vendors and contractors including access, permit to work, PM work, emergency support and spare part availability to ensure all systems operate within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and prescribed environmental setpoints
  • Support Shift Lead to make critical decision for team with best benefit result for PDG
  • Support Continuous Improvement Plan program for system performance
  • Attend daily operation meeting with SME, Vendors and Manager to update daily operation issue, outstanding activities, system capacity and energy usage
  • Monitor and identify all critical data centre parameters and utility consumption trends to ensure compliance with operating specifications, promptly analysing and identify any abnormalities or deviations
  • Trigger escalation plan and strictly follow defined response time
  • Prepare necessary report in routine basis. Highlight and follow up whenever issues encountered
  • Assist in incident management by executing escalation procedures according to criticality and priority
  • Monitor and maintain network systems by checking performance, reviewing logs, and responding quickly to alerts and issues
  • Participate in change management processes, ensuring that network changes are properly planned, tested, and implemented with minimal disruption to network services
  • Back up maintaining system health, coordinating maintenance on floor level equipment & machinery in the organization
  • Responsible in online trending/alarm monitoring in BMS & CPOS systems in terms of devices, and infrastructure to detect and resolve incidents related to system, mechanical, electrical & network issues promptly
  • Assist SME and customer in system maintenance tasks, including software upgrades, firmware updates, and configuration changes.
  • Ensure that system equipment, such as PLC's, routers, servers, switches, gateways, are properly configured and updated
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation, including BMS and CPOS network diagrams, configurations & capacity management procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualities You Should Have:

  • Degree in Engineering/IT or other relevant technical disciplines
  • At least 3 years of experience in data centre operations or critical facilities
  • Able to commit to 12 hours shift work on a work 4 days, off 4 days arrangement
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word, BMS, CMMS/DCIM, ERP, Microsoft BI.
  • Strong decision-making under pressure
  • Strong sense of responsibility and integrity
  • Team player with the ability to coordinate across departments
  • Cross culturally aware and adaptable
