Role Description This is a full-time, on-site SME Relationship Manager role based in Kota Kinabalu. The SME Relationship Manager will manage and grow a portfolio of small and medium enterprise (SME) clients by identifying their financial needs and offering suitable banking solutions, including lending, deposits, trade finance, and cash management products. The role involves proactive business development through client visits, networking, and lead generation to acquire new customers and deepen existing relationships. The SME Relationship Manager will assess creditworthiness, prepare credit proposals, monitor account performance, and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. The role also includes collaborating with internal teams to deliver seamless customer service, resolving client issues promptly, and contributing to sales targets and branch performance.

Qualifications

  • Strong relationship management and client servicing skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term partnerships with SME customers.
  • Proficiency in credit assessment, financial analysis, and preparation of credit proposals for SME lending.
  • Solid understanding of banking products and services relevant to SMEs, including loans, trade finance, deposits, and cash management solutions.
  • Business development and sales abilities, including prospecting, networking, and negotiation to achieve growth targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial solutions clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in SME banking, corporate banking, or commercial banking is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of local market conditions in Kota Kinabalu and surrounding areas is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and uphold high ethical and professional standards.
