Role Purpose
The Group Accountant will be responsible for managing the Group's financial reporting, regional consolidation, treasury operations, foreign exchange (FX) risk management, and banking relationships across Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, optimal funding structures, and strong financial governance to support the Group's growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for the Group.
- Manage the consolidation of financial results across entities in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and Group reporting policies.
- Review and analyse financial performance, variances, and key business drivers for management reporting.
- Coordinate year-end audits and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.
Treasury, Funding & Banking
- Manage the Group's cash flow forecasting and liquidity requirements.
- Monitor and optimise working capital across all operating entities.
- Support debt financing activities, including loan applications, renewals, covenant monitoring, and facility management.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with banks, financial institutions, and funding partners.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate financing structures to support business expansion and capital expenditure initiatives.
Foreign Exchange (FX) Hedging
- Develop and execute FX risk management and hedging strategies to minimise foreign currency exposure.
- Monitor currency movements and assess the impact on the Group's financial performance.
- Coordinate FX transactions, forward contracts, and other hedging instruments with banking partners.
- Prepare regular FX exposure and hedging reports for senior management.
Management Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare Group-level management reports, financial dashboards, and presentations for senior management.
- Provide financial analysis and business insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning exercises.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with local statutory and tax requirements in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
- Maintain robust internal controls and financial governance practices.
- Support implementation and enhancement of finance policies, systems, and procedures.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in group accounting, consolidation, treasury, or corporate finance functions.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in FX hedging, treasury management, and banking relationship management.
- Hands-on experience in group consolidation across multiple countries, preferably Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
- Experience managing funding activities, debt facilities, and cash flow planning.
- Strong analytical, financial modelling, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
