Job Description
Job Summary**
The Personal Banker at United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with individual customers, understanding their financial needs, and providing suitable banking solutions and services. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to the bank's growth through effective sales and advisory activities.
Job Responsibilities**
- Build and manage a portfolio of individual customers, fostering long-term relationships through proactive engagement and needs-based selling.
- Conduct financial needs analysis for customers to identify opportunities for banking products and services, including deposits, loans, investments, and insurance.
- Advise customers on various banking products and services, explaining features, benefits, and terms clearly and accurately.
- Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately, adhering to all bank policies and procedures.
- Achieve individual sales targets for various banking products and services.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service requests promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal bank policies, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) procedures.
- Participate in sales campaigns and promotional activities to drive business growth.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and new product offerings to effectively position the bank's services.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless customer service and cross-selling opportunities.
Job Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 2-3 years) in a customer-facing role within the banking or financial services industry, preferably as a Personal Banker or Relationship Manager.
- Strong understanding of retail banking products and services, including deposits, loans, investments, and insurance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated sales acumen and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Customer-centric mindset with a strong commitment to providing excellent service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential. Proficiency in other local languages will be an added advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., FIMM, PCE, CEILI) are highly desirable.
