We are currently hiring an IT Software Developer / Automation Engineer Factory Automation for one of our clients in Malaysia. This role focuses on developing factory automation solutions, system integrations, and automation frameworks to improve manufacturing efficiency and eliminate manual processes.

Role Overview
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software and automation solutions that support factory automation systems. The role involves integrating production equipment, implementing real-time data acquisition and monitoring, automating repetitive tasks, and ensuring performance, scalability, and security compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain factory automation and IT software applications
- Integrate software with factory machines and industrial automation systems
- Implement real-time machine data acquisition, monitoring, and reporting interfaces
- Develop automation scripts to eliminate manual and repetitive operational tasks
- Build and maintain automation and orchestration solutions (RPA preferred)
- Integrate systems and applications using APIs
- Monitor, log, and manage automated workflows with proper error handling
- Optimize application and automation performance and scalability
- Apply security best practices including credential management and least-privilege access
- Analyze user and business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Maintain technical and automation documentation throughout the lifecycle
Mandatory / Required Skills
- Experience with .NET, C/C#, Python, Node.js, JavaScript
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, Bash, and JavaScript
- Database experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools (RPA preferred)
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience with Git or SVN version control
- Understanding of monitoring, alerting, and logging systems
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of security fundamentals
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to industrial automation or manufacturing environments
- Experience with virtualization, containers, and cloud platforms
