About the role:
For this role, you are responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by designing and executing test plans, identifying bugs, and working closely with the development team to resolve them. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet customer and business requirements.
Quality Ownership
- Drive the overall testing strategy for web, mobile apps, and backend APIs to ensure releases meet functional, performance, and security benchmarks.
- Lead payment testing scenarios including transaction flows, payment gateway integrations, settlement logic, edge-case handling, and error recovery to reduce defects in production.
Test Design & Execution
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases across multiple platforms (Web, iOS, Android) to validate features, performance, usability, and cross-device consistency.
- Develop and execute API test suites (REST/GraphQL), assessing request/response handling, validations, error codes, and integration reliability.
Defect Management & Root Cause Analysis
- Identify, log, and prioritize defects with clear impact analysis; collaborate with developers to drive timely resolution and prevent regression.
- Conduct root-cause analysis to reduce recurring issues and improve code quality across sprints.
Automation & Efficiency
- Build and maintain automated test scripts for core payment flows, API endpoints, and high-traffic user journeys to increase test coverage and reduce manual regression cycles.
- Continuously optimize test pipelines, reducing testing time while increasing defect detection accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to clarify requirements, validate acceptance criteria, and ensure test readiness before development handover.
- Provide data-driven quality insights each sprint to improve release confidence and decision-making.
Quality Governance
- Contribute to process improvements, including better test documentation, improved defect workflows, enhanced release checklists, and quality gates.
- Stay updated on testing tools, automation frameworks, and QA best practices relevant to payment systems and distributed applications.
Job Requirements:
- At least Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Scrum).
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- ISTQB or similar software testing certification is a plus
- Able to converse in Mandarin proficiently to collaborate with stakeholders in Taiwan and China
