Software Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for ServiceNow modules and custom applications using the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).

Establish and maintain robust testing solutions by leveraging Python and the Selenium framework to create data-driven tests for complex web interfaces and integration points beyond ATF's core capabilities.

Accelerate test script creation and maintenance by effectively utilizing advanced tools like Playwright to quickly generate, debug, and refine Python/Selenium test scripts.

Explore and evaluate the usage of AI tools and machine learning techniques for improving testing effectiveness, productivity, and quality, including test generation, defect prediction, or root cause analysis.

Collaborate closely with the Development Team and other stakeholders to understand functional requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and automation strategies.

Manage and track testing progress and defects using project management tools like Jira.

Maintain version control of all automation code within BitBucket, ensuring proper branching, merging, and code review standards are followed.

Perform thorough root cause analysis on failed tests and system defects, ensuring clear and detailed reporting to the Development Team.

Lead the maintenance and enhancement of the existing automation framework structure and libraries for optimal performance, reusability, and scalability.

Contribute significantly to continuous improvement initiatives within the testing process.

Required Qualifications & Experience

3-5 years of professional experience focused specifically on software testing automation.

Demonstrable expertise in the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF), including the creation of complex test suites, step configurations, and leveraging custom UI steps.

Strong working knowledge of Python scripting and hands-on experience developing tests using the Selenium framework.

Practical experience using Playwright specifically to accelerate the generation or enhance the stability of Python/Selenium test scripts.

Proficiency in using Jira for logging defects, managing tasks, and tracking testing progress.

Experience with BitBucket for source code management.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
