Job Description

Position Title

Solar Residential Sales Engineer

Department

Business Development Department

Reports To

Sales Team Lead

Job Purpose

To manage residential solar leads from initial enquiry until successful sales closure, payment

collection, installation coordination, energization, and client handover to the After Sales team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Management

• Receive assigned leads from the Primary Sales WhatsApp Number.

• Follow up with potential clients promptly after leads are assigned.

• Understand client needs, property details, electricity usage, and solar requirements.

• Provide basic consultation and explanation on residential solar solutions.

• Maintain proper communication with clients through WhatsApp, phone calls, and face to face

meetings when required.

Sales Consultation and Closing

• Prepare and explain the solar proposal, quotation, package, savings estimate, and payment

terms to clients.

• Address client questions and concerns professionally.

• Follow up consistently to convert leads into confirmed customers.

• Close sales and request booking payment from clients.

• Ensure booking payment is made through the approved company payment method.Document Collection

• Collect all required documents from clients through WhatsApp or hard copy.

• Ensure all client documents are complete, clear, and submitted to the relevant internal team.

• Follow up with clients for any missing or incomplete documents.

Site Visit Arrangement

• Arrange the site visit date with the client and internal technical team.

• Confirm site visit details with all relevant parties.

• Ensure the client is properly briefed on the purpose of the site visit.

Payment Collection Coordination

• After the site visit is completed, request initial payment from the client before solar

installation.

• Guide clients on online payment methods when applicable.

• Visit clients with the company payment terminal when payment by debit card or credit card is

requested.

• After installation is completed, request balance payment from the client before energization.

• Ensure all payment confirmations and receipts are properly recorded and shared with the

relevant team.

Installation and Energization Follow Up

• Coordinate with the internal operations and project team to monitor installation progress.

• Keep clients updated on installation and energization status.

• Ensure balance payment is settled before energization proceeds.

Client Handover

• After energization is completed, conduct the handover process with the client.

• Provide necessary information to the client, including the After Sales contact number.

• Explain the basic post energization support process to the client.

• Ensure future enquiries, maintenance matters, or support requests are directed to the correct

After Sales channel.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong communication and follow up skills.

• Good sales closing ability.

• Basic technical understanding of solar PV systems.

• Able to explain solar solutions in a simple and professional manner.

• Able to manage clients through WhatsApp, phone calls, and face to face meetings.

• Good coordination skills with internal departments.• Responsible in handling client documents and payment follow up.

• Able to work independently and meet sales targets.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, Marketing, or related field is

preferred.

• Experience in solar sales, technical sales, property, construction, or related industries will be

an advantage.

• Fresh graduates with strong sales interest may be considered.

• Possess own transport and willing to travel for client meetings when required.

• Finance Team for payment confirmation.

• After Sales Team for post energization support and client handover.
