Role Overview

Nelson Miller Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sourcing Senior Engineer with strong knowledge in both mechanical and electronic components to join our SE Asia team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end sourcing activities across Asia, including supplier communication, factory audits, RFQ management, cost analysis, and support for our U.S. team. This role requires high responsiveness, including availability during nights and weekends to support urgent sourcing needs.

The Sourcing Senior Engineer role is an on-site position located in Nelson Miller Group's Malaysia office. This role requires the candidate to be located in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source mechanical and electronic components from suppliers across Asia.
• Send RFQs to suppliers and ensure timely responses aligned with project deadlines.
• Evaluate supplier quotations to ensure alignment with target cost provided by the U.S. team.
• Perform supplier audits and evaluate supplier capabilities and compliance.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and communicate requirements effectively.
• Calculate accurate landed cost for shipments to the U.S., factoring in all relevant charges.
• Coordinate with internal teams to support project timelines and cost targets.
• Respond to calls and emails from the U.S. team during off-hours, including nights and weekends, when necessary.
• Maintain records, tracking logs, and reports for sourcing and cost evaluation.
• Work independently and with minimal supervision while handling multiple priorities.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fields.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing engineering, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of both mechanical and electronic components.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; strong mathematical skills and high attention to detail.
• Fluent in English, Chinese, and Malay (spoken and written).
• Willing to travel and work across Asia countries as needed.
• Must be willing to work overtime, including nights and weekends, when required.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates who are familiar with Asian supplier markets and U.S. import/export cost structures.
• Culturally adaptive and able to work across borders effectively.
• Highly responsive, dependable, and disciplined in follow-ups.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Alma, Bukit Mertajam, Penang

Salary Range: RM 5,500 – RM 8,500 (13th Month)

Allowances: Transport, meal, phone, and internet etc.
