Role Description
We are seeking a full-time, on-site Sous Chef to join our team in Kuching. As a Sous Chef, you will assist in daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, supervising kitchen staff, maintaining food quality, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. You will collaborate with the head chef to develop exciting new recipes, plan menus, monitor inventory, and oversee a smooth kitchen workflow. Additionally, you will provide training and mentorship to the culinary team, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence in food preparation and presentation.
Qualifications
- Strong culinary skills in food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Experience in menu planning, recipe development, and maintaining inventory
- Knowledge and practice of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen organization
- Team leadership capabilities, including staff supervision and mentorship
- Time management, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Formal culinary training or certification is advantageous
- Prior experience as a Sous Chef, line cook, or similar role is required
- Passion for food trends and the willingness to innovate and experiment with new flavors
