Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Special Education Teacher located in Penang, Malaysia. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering individualized educational programs tailored to meet the needs of students with diverse learning challenges. Daily responsibilities include implementing specialized teaching strategies, assessing student progress, collaborating with therapists and support staff, and fostering strong communication with families. The role also involves creating a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment to foster emotional, social, and academic growth.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in teaching students with special needs, particularly those with disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Dyslexia, or developmental delays
• Expertise in planning and delivering individualized and specialized education within a middle school or similar setting
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage students, families, and multidisciplinary team members
• Professional experience or credentials in special education or related fields, such as teaching certification or a degree in education, special education, early childhood education or psychology
• Compassion, patience, and the ability to maintain a positive and solution-focused approach in challenging situations
• Familiarity with therapeutic interventions and experience in creating an inclusive learning environment is an advantage
• Experience in working with diverse educational needs and small group or one-on-one teaching is beneficial
