Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Specialist to oversee tax compliance, including preparing, validating, filing direct and indirect tax returns, supporting tax audits, while also contributing to continuous process improvements. Southeast Asia Countries Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar
  • Tax Compliance & Reporting
    Ensuring timely and accurate tax filings
    Preparing and/ or reviewing Corporate income tax filing CIT, freight tax, carrier tax, foreign contractor tax etc
    Preparing and/ or reviewing Indirect tax filing VAT/ GST, Sales Tax or withholding tax etc
    Supporting tax planning, tax estimate/ revision, tax instalment/ payment, tax provision
    Ensuring tax returns of ASE are filed in accordance with tax authorities
    Managing Tax Audit including preparation of schedules, follow up with all the stakeholders, resolving discrepancies
    Preparing Quarterly Tax Risk Reporting and regular updates to management on the tax development
    Supporting the global tax team on the Transfer Pricing policies
    Ensuring Transfer Pricing documentation are up to date
    Supporting Corporate Tax in HQ by implementing tax policies and strategies
    Staying up to date on all tax regulations for SEA countries, assessing their impact on business
    Being the POE coordinating among HQ, Region, Area, QSC, Tax consultant
  • Financial Reporting & Accounting
    Preparing monthly management reporting, expenditure analysis and ad hoc reports
    Preparing financial statements in accordance with local accounting standards and statutory requirements
    Preparing cost plus computation
    Ensuring meeting closing and reporting deadlines (accuracy and timely delivery)
  • Internal Control Checklist (ICCL)
    Preparing and co-ordinate monthly internal control checklist for sign off
    Implementing corrective measure action to tighten internal control
  • Process improvement and automation
    Willing to lead projects for simplification, streamlining and automation
    Process improvement champion
  • Any other projects/tasks assigned by the team leader
Qualifications
  • Only applicable to local Malaysian applicants.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • ACCA, MICPA, ICAEW, or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate income tax experience, preferably with additional exposure in one or more of the following areas: Indirect Tax, Transfer Pricing, and/or CrossBorder Transactions.
