Job Summary
The Squad Lead, Data Quality Management at RHB Bank Berhad will lead a team focused on ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of data across the organization. This role involves defining and implementing data quality standards, processes, and tools to support data-driven decision-making and regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibilities
- Define and maintain data quality dimensions, rules, thresholds, and KPIs (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity).
- Oversee data quality monitoring, profiling, issue management, and remediation processes.
- Work with business and IT teams to investigate root causes of data quality issues and drive sustainable fixes at source systems.
- Design, implement, and maintain an enterprise-wide Data Governance framework, including policies, standards, and operating procedures.
- Chair or support Data Governance forums, working groups, and committees.
- Ensure alignment of data governance practices with regulatory expectations (e.g. BNM, internal audit, compliance).
- Support data-related regulatory reporting, risk management, and audit activities.
- Ensure data controls meet expectations under relevant frameworks such as BNM Risk Management in Technology (RMiT), BCBS 239 principles, and internal policies.
- Act as a subject matter expert during audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews involving data quality or governance.
- Partner with business units to embed data governance and data quality practices into day-to-day operations.
- Provide guidance, training, and awareness programs to data owners and data stewards.
- Act as a bridge between business, technology, and risk teams on data matters.
- Support the implementation and use of data governance and data quality tools (e.g. data catalog, metadata management, data quality tools).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data maturity across the Bank.
- Stay informed on industry best practices and regulatory developments related to data governance and data management.
Job Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications are an advantage (e.g. DAMA‑CDMP, DCAM, data governance or data management certifications).
Experience
- 5–10 years experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or related roles, preferably within banking or financial services.
- Proven experience working with regulatory reporting, risk, finance, or compliance data.
- Practical experience establishing data governance frameworks and managing data quality initiatives at scale.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data management lifecycle, and data quality methodologies.
- Familiarity with banking data domains (customer, credit, risk, finance, AML, regulatory reporting).
- Experience with data quality tools, metadata/catalog solutions, or analytics platforms is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret regulatory expectations and translate them into practical data controls.
