The key responsibilities role are outlined below:
- Government Incentives & Regulatory Engagement
- Proactively explore and evaluate new government tax incentive opportunities (e.g., NIF) with MIDA, especially in view of the Reinvestment Allowance (RA) incentive expiring in FY2028
- Coordinate manufacturing license applications, renewals, and regulatory submissions to ensure full compliance
- Statutory Audit & Compliance Management
- Lead and manage the annual statutory audit, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors
- Oversee audit planning, documentation, issue resolution, and timely closure of audit findings
- Tax Compliance & Authority Liaison
- Manage annual tax computations, filings, and queries in collaboration with tax agents
- Act as the key contact with the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) for audits and follow-ups
- Prepare and submit monthly withholding tax filings accurately and on time
- Coordinate transfer pricing compliance and documentation with tax agents
- Internal Controls & SOX Governance
- Manage Finance SOX baseline, including documentation, control testing, and remediation tracking
- Conduct finance self-audits to ensure ongoing SOX compliance
- Other Plant Support
- Drive FIA submissions
- Validate plant Lean savings for financial credibility
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for site GL not covered by GBS
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, etc.) is an advantage
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting
- Able to speak, read, and write in Mandarin to support business and stakeholders is an advantage
- Experience in audit or commercial environment preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SAP accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
