Job Description

This Senior Accountant role is based in Malaysia and supports Crocs Japan as part of the regional finance team responsible for accounting and statutory compliance across Crocs entities in China, Japan, and Korea. The role supports accurate and timely accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, audit requirements, and reliable financial data for the business.

We are looking for a finance professional who is process-driven, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy and continuous improvement. This role requires a proactive problem solver who can take ownership, adapt to a fast-paced environment, identify root causes, and collaborate effectively across teams. As this position supports Japan-related finance activities, business-level Japanese and English are required to communicate effectively with stakeholders in Japan and across the regional team.

What You'll Do

  • Review and approve AR, AP, and GL transactional processing
  • Verify and review journal entry requests
  • Determine and review appropriate transactional accounting details, including GL accounts, trading partner, and tax code, where required
  • Perform and review account reconciliations across entities
  • Coordinate with Treasury on settlement requirements and intercompany clearing
  • Coordinate with Tax on direct and indirect tax bookings
  • Manage vendor and supplier applications and obtain approval in the ERP system
  • Ensure payment and receipt transactions are processed accurately and efficiently

Accounting and control

  • Prepare and review journal entries
  • Ensure transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Reconcile subledgers and general ledger accounts, including intercompany balances
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities
  • Ensure assets and liabilities are accurately recorded at period end
  • Drive process improvements, including training recommendations and procedure updates

Controls

  • Maintain compliance with documented policies and procedures and ensure adherence to US GAAP
  • Support SOX compliance for key financial controls
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls

Collaboration

  • Work closely with regional peers and cross-functional teams across the company
  • Partner with global teams to align and standardize processes
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Regional AR/AP, and Internal Audit
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across finance operations
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior accounting colleagues

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Boki Level 2 or above is an advantage
  • 6 to 8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an international organization
  • Good understanding of US GAAP
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Experience with account reconciliation tools, preferably BlackLine
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Shared Service Center experience, either in-house or with a third-party provider
  • Strong financial process experience, including financial close
  • Understanding of internal controls and experience with SOX
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English to support collaboration with stakeholders in Japan and across the regional team
  • Ability to be based in Malaysia while supporting Japan-related finance activities
  • Minimal travel required
