Sr. Director, Engineering to join us in

The Sr Director of Engineering leads the strategic development and execution of Industry 4.0 initiatives, driving automation, software integration, and IT/OT convergence to enhance business value. This role oversees engineering standards, platform development, and global deployment plans, ensuring data governance and smart manufacturing solutions. By partnering across functions and leveraging advanced technologies such as AI and big data analytics, the Sr Director shapes innovation, optimizes operations, and delivers transformative solutions for manufacturing and supply chain excellence.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead team of 8 Manufacturing Engineers specializing in software, mechanical engineering, and Automation.
- Work with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to evaluate opportunities for applying Industry 4.0 concepts - adopting intelligent solutions (up to artificial intelligence) for facilities, utilities, manufacturing equipment and enterprise systems across the UCT environment.
- Own the platform development for our automation solutions for the factory, including production, warehousing and logistics. Responsible for Engineering Standards related to Industry 4.0 which will be developed to guide design and implementation of core platforms and processes.
- Develop business cases for proposed investments.
- Lead the ME (Manufacturing Engineering) Council and drive best practices, and standardized training for both Assembly and Weldment.
- Implement Limble CMMS across all sites in UCT to maximize equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.
- Manage the configuration changes and new feature requests from UCT.
- Involve in major escalations, issues and fixing manufacturing process issues.
- Partner with internal peers and stakeholders to develop global deployment plans.
- Be responsible for the data governance surrounding all our new technology introductions.
- Enable device connectivity and applying digital technology, big data analytics, machine learning & AI to build an end-to-end echo system for smart manufacturing.
- Work with local government bodies like EDB and MIDA (Malaysia) and UCT Finance for grant and incentive which includes periodic audits.
- Realize and implement Industry 4.0 Use cases for manufacturing, logistics and supply chain.
- Enlist the IT support and development together with partners in manufacturing, warehouse and logistics, Global IT and group analytics
- Work as an integral part of the factory operations worldwide, defining and executing strategies for technology improvement and value creation through technology of scale
- Maintain roadmaps for SW and HW products in the industry 4.0 domain and work with partners from the global organization to implement.

Educational/Certification Requirement
- Bachelor's or master's degree in technical or engineering area or the equivalent level of experience.
- Lean6Sigma certification a big plus.
Experience Requirement
Work Experience:
- Minimum years 8 years of experience in Industry 4.0, Industrial Engineering, software architecture, manufacturing & technology solutions & automation disciplines.
- 15+ years experience in a Manufacturing environment with at least 7+ years in management.
