Role Description
The Senior Finance Executive is responsible for managing the company's full spectrum of accounting and finance functions, including day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting, cash flow management, budget control, and statutory compliance. The role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, and strong financial discipline to support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain full set of accounts including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions
- Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Manage invoicing, collections, and supplier payments
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
- Analyse financial performance and highlight variances to management
- Assist in preparation of annual financial statements and audit schedules
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries
Budgeting & Financial Management
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Monitor actual performance against budget and flag variances
- Support cost control initiatives and expense management
- Track project or departmental costs where applicable
Cashflow & Treasury
- Manage cash flow planning, forecasting, and monitoring
- Ensure timely collection of receivables and optimise working capital
- Monitor banking facilities, payments, and fund utilisation
Tax & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with tax, statutory and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and submit statutory filings on time
- Support tax computations and liaise with tax consultants
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years relevant working experience
- Strong knowledge of full set accounts and Malaysian statutory requirements
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work independently
- Experience in SME / trading / healthcare industry is an advantage
