Role Description

The Senior Finance Executive is responsible for managing the company's full spectrum of accounting and finance functions, including day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting, cash flow management, budget control, and statutory compliance. The role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, and strong financial discipline to support management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain full set of accounts including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Manage invoicing, collections, and supplier payments

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
  • Analyse financial performance and highlight variances to management
  • Assist in preparation of annual financial statements and audit schedules
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries

Budgeting & Financial Management

  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and flag variances
  • Support cost control initiatives and expense management
  • Track project or departmental costs where applicable

Cashflow & Treasury

  • Manage cash flow planning, forecasting, and monitoring
  • Ensure timely collection of receivables and optimise working capital
  • Monitor banking facilities, payments, and fund utilisation

Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with tax, statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and submit statutory filings on time
  • Support tax computations and liaise with tax consultants

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience
  • Strong knowledge of full set accounts and Malaysian statutory requirements
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work independently
  • Experience in SME / trading / healthcare industry is an advantage
