Ansell is looking for an Sr Specialist, OT Smart Manufacturing to join our team in Malacca, Malaysia.

In this position you will play a vital role in for leading operational technology governance, digitalization infrastructure, and Smart Factory solutions deployment across the plant. This role covers networked automation systems, IIoT platforms, MES/CMMS integration, process data visibility, and cybersecure OT architecture. The position drives analytics-based performance improvement through real-time data, supports APS pillars (AM, PM, RTT), and ensures high reliability and uptime of OT systems enabling Industry 4.0 & beyond capabilities.

What your role will be

1. OT Architecture & Infrastructure

• Develop, maintain and secure OT network architecture including PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, historians, edge gateways and data servers.
• Establish governance and system backup/recovery structure for OT assets.

2. Smart Manufacturing & IIoT Enablement

• Lead implementation of real-time data visibility solutions, dashboards, OEE tracking, machine connectivity and condition monitoring systems.
• Integrate MES/CMMS platforms to improve asset lifecycle visibility.

3. Cybersecurity & Compliance

• Ensure OT cybersecurity protocols, network segmentation, access control and system patching.
• Align with internal global cyber standards and external regulatory requirements.

4. Reliability & Performance Enhancement

• Use machine data analytics to drive defect, downtime and energy loss reduction.
• Support Predictive & Preventive maintenance through digital tools.

5. Stakeholder & Project Leadership

• Lead cross-functional digital transformation projects linked to APS deliverables.
• Liaise with Global IT/OT teams, vendors and internal stakeholders for project execution.

6. Documentation & Standardization

• Develop OT asset registry, network diagrams, logic security procedures and version control.
• Establish change management procedure for control systems and digital infrastructure.

7. Continuous Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement through digital KPIs and analytics.
• Promote Smart Factory maturity progression and roadmap execution. Work on upgrading the plant equipment to latest state of the art energy efficient equipment with a view to reduce energy cost.

What will you bring to Ansell

• Degree in electrical/Electronic/Automation/Mechatronics/Computer Engineering or Industrial Technology.
• Certified training in OT/IIoT/Industrial Network/Smart Manufacturing is an added advantage.
• Experience in automation/OT/Smart Manufacturing role in manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience leading digitalization/Industry 4.0 projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge in OT Infrastructure (PLC/SCADA/Historian/MES network integration).
• Familiar with cybersecurity for plant automation systems.
• Knowledge in MQTT/OPC UA/Industrial Ethernet protocols.
• Data analytics mindset with ability to convert digital signals into operational improvements.
• Strong project leadership, vendor management and stakeholder communication skills.
