Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Sr. Staff Process Integration Engineer in the development of the next generation high energy density Li-ion battery. The candidate will work cross functionally to develop processes and materials related to our cell assembly and packaging. This includes defining and qualifying new processes, transferring processes to higher volume production, overseeing cell builds, performing root cause analysis, understanding safety and performance test data, analyzing cycle time and yields and effectively communicating the results.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to develop process that achieves product performance goals by understanding the design space, and systematically working through design trade-offs
  • Responsible for providing roadmap of any future development projects and drive projects to completion.
  • Responsible for Technology and process transfer from low volume to high volume production.
  • Lead cross functional team of process engineers, mechanical engineers, and test engineers to develop process and tooling for next generation cell designs that's capable for large scale manufacturing.
  • Design and run well-designed experiments based on DOE methodologies on Enovix test vehicles to meet company technology roadmap.
  • Perform FMEA and root cause analysis when necessary to achieve design and product performance goals via data analysis tools such as JMP.
  • Deliver final product, data driven analyses on schedule and effectively communicate the results to various stakeholders

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or related field with 10+ years industry experience. MS or PhD with 5+ years industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in design, development, and manufacturing of Li-Ion batteries is required
  • Proven track-record of process integration in the scale-up to high-volume battery manufacturing is required
  • Demonstrated capability to effectively analyze process data and extract/summarize meaningful information required
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams to solve complex multi-disciplinary problems required
  • Familiarity with SPC, DOE, FMEA and 8D methodologies required
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking ability and attention to detail highly desired
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing a group of 10+ engineers is a bonus.
  • Fluent in English. Can effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues around the world in California, India, Korea and Malaysia.
