Staff Tax Accountant

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Tax Accountant role based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing tax compliance and reporting activities, including preparing tax computations and returns, monitoring tax liabilities, and ensuring timely filings in accordance with applicable Malaysia tax laws and regulations.

The role will also involve reviewing financial statements and accounting records, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial information for tax reporting purposes. The Tax Accountant will work closely with internal teams and external advisors to provide guidance on tax implications of business transactions, support tax audits and reviews, and assist in resolving tax-related matters.

The successful candidate should have practical experience in tax and accounting, strong attention to detail, a high level of integrity in handling confidential financial information, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in tax and accounting.
• Practical experience in Malaysia corporate tax compliance and tax filing.
• Familiarity with Malaysia tax laws and LHDN requirements.
• Experience in preparing tax computations and tax returns.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Fluent in Mandarin (both spoken and written) and English.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information.
