Job Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Regional Storage Operations team at Marsh. This role will be based in Kuala Lumpur. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Storage Technical Specialist

We will count on you to:

  • Support critical storage technologies and associated applications across multiple vendors including and not limited to Dell EMC, NetApp, INFINIDAT and Cisco storage environments
  • Good knowledge on Cloud with AWS and Azure. Oracle cloud knowledge is a plus.
  • Good scripting skills and the ability to enhance and update existing scripts.
  • Work to ITIL best practices in regard to incident management, change management, configuration and problem management. Attend relevant service review meetings as required to represent the storage team.
  • Manage services to SLA. Ensure all severity 1 issues are acted on to SLA. Work with major incident managers and peers from other groups to resolve major incidents to resolution. Prepare root cause analysis as required and present as appropriate.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for out of hours support related to supporting storage infrastructure globally. Flexible to work during different days/times in the week as needed.
  • Work proactively to manage performance of the storage technologies and avoid issues related to performance. If performance issues do occur, use appropriate tools and processes to diagnose and address in a timely manner.
  • Participate in vendor service review to ensure that they are attaining agreed service levels.
  • Estimate, Plan and Lead internal small to medium sized projects or represent the storage team on parts of larger projects, organizing the owned work effectively and providing technical/competency leadership to others.
  • Manage advanced technical issues escalated from technical peers for problem resolution.
  • Create, modify and publish process and procedural documentation.
  • Perform installations, patch & code upgrades, capacity planning and performance tuning through approved Change Management mechanisms of the Storage Assets globally.
  • Maintain and monitor compliance to corporate security policies. Participate in Storage Security Audit reviews regularly to ensure they are compliant and address any issues immediately.
  • Identify and implement process improvements including automation where appropriate.
  • Support application Disaster Recovery tests.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field from an accredited college/University or equivalent combination of education, professional training and experience.
  • Over 8 years hands on experience in a technical storage infrastructure operational role
  • Technical understanding of storage technologies including but not limited to:
    • Dell EMC: PMAX and associated management tools
    • NetApp: CDOT, Operations Manager, OCUM, OnCommand Insight
    • Cisco: MDS9700s, Cisco NMDC tool
    • Infinidat: Block storage devices
    • Cloud Technologies including AWS, Azure and Oracle Cloud. Expert knowledge on FSx for OnTap and Azure File services.
