Your tasks
We are seeking a Strategic Buyer to handle procurement administration and order execution for make-to-order (MTO) and OEM parts. This role focuses on vendor relationship management, daily procurement, order follow-up and documentation, ensuring on-time delivery, cost control and quality compliance.
- Manage procurement requests for MTO and OEM parts based on technical specifications, drawings, designated suppliers, and target pricing
- Interpret and evaluate engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate understanding of design and manufacturing requirements
- Align technical requirements with supplier capabilities by collaborating on production methods and supporting minor design optimizations to reduce cost
- Manage daily supplier relationships, ensuring effective communication, issue resolution, and continuous alignment on cost reduction and other expectations
- Create and issue purchase orders in compliance with company procedures, maintaining accurate and complete procurement documentation
- Monitor order status and proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
- Coordinate with PEC teams (cost engineering, production, quality, and purchasing) to track supplier performance and provide status updates
- Resolve delivery delays, quantity discrepancies, and quality issues in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Maintain supplier performance data and support vendor evaluations
- Contribute to cost control initiatives and continuous improvement of procurement processes
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
Your skills
- Minimum relevant Bachelor's degree with technical background
- 2–4 years working experience in the manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of production techniques, including machining, sheet metal processing, finishing, injection molding (IM), and cables and wires (C&W)
- Solid understanding of technical specifications, engineering drawings, and measurement methods
- Highly analytical with strong numerical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); working experience with SAP is required
- Meticulous, responsible and able to work efficiently under pressure
- Solid English communication skills (oral & written); additional language skills a plus
