Overview
The Strategic Investment Assistant Manager will be part of CSI's Investment team, supporting key functions in investment analysis, fund administration, and investor relations. This full-time role provides a platform for professionals looking to develop in the private equity space, and is curated to develop future fund managers. In particular, the Strategic Investment Assistant Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the firm's private equity and strategic investment initiatives focused on the US market. Based in Malaysia and working aligned to US business hours, this role will closely collaborate with the US team to identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities and partnerships. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen, cross-border deal experience, and the ability to manage complex projects independently, contributing directly to the firm's growth and expansion strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Analysis and Evaluation
- Conduct due diligence on potential investment opportunities including financial statement analysis, market research, and risk assessment.
- Assess financial viability and strategic fit to clients investments based on our firms criteria and mandates.
- Perform financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate investment returns and risks.
- Prepare investment memos and presentations for senior management.
- Track and monitor the performance of current investments, analyzing key financial metrics and industry trends.
- Collaborate closely with the US team to assess deal pipelines, support negotiations, and structure investment proposals.
- Monitor US market developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends relevant to private capital and strategic growth.
Fund Administration and Operations
- Coordinate with fund administrators, custodians, and legal counsel on fund administration activities.
- Manage and ensure timely execution of fund transactions such as capital calls and redemptions.
- Maintain and manage documentation including Limited Partnership Agreements (LPA), Subscription Agreements, and Information Memorandums relevant to local operations.
- Prepare and distribute financial reports to investors, maintaining transparency and accuracy.
- Work with internal teams and external auditors during fund audits and compliance checks.
Investor Relations and Fundraising
- Build and maintain relationships with investors through regular communication and engagement initiatives.
- Assist in organizing investor meetings, events, and preparing investor presentations.
- Provide timely updates to investors on fund performance, market insights, and investment activities.
- Participate in fundraising efforts, including roadshows and investor conferences to grow the firm's investor base.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive investor information.
Requirements
- Experience in private equity, investment banking, or financial services.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for financial modeling.
- Ability to evaluate deals, and manage stakeholder relationships, including internal and external.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in presenting to investors.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, or CPA are a plus.
