Your Role And Responsibilities
The Supplier Onboarding role helps bring new suppliers into the IBM smoothly and correctly.
This role supports suppliers as they complete required registrations, documents, and system setup.
It ensures suppliers are ready to work with the IBM from the start.
The person in this role works closely with internal IBM teams such as Procurement, Finance, and Compliance.
They check that supplier information is complete, accurate, and meets IBM regulatory requirements.
This helps reduce delays and avoids future issues.
Clear communication is an important part of the job.
The Supplier Onboarding specialist answers supplier questions, follows up on missing information, and helps resolve any onboarding issues.
This creates a positive experience for suppliers and builds strong working relationships.
The role also helps improve onboarding processes by identifying problems and suggesting better ways of working.
This position is well suited for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with both internal IBM teams and external suppliers & partners.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- This role will work with the strategic sourcing buyers for Supplier Onboarding , Maintenance, Helping suppliers with tool and procurement queries and also offer guidance to procurement buyers when needed.
- Minimum 2-3 years in procurement, with a strong understanding of Source-to-Contract and Procure-to-Pay processes.
- Excellent English & Japanese communication skills, both written and spoken, with a client-facing approach.
- Proven ability to build supplier and client relationships.
- Skilled in problem-solving, data analysis and reporting.
- Eager to learn, adaptable to new challenges, and innovative in reimagining workflows to improve efficiency and risk management.
- Exposure to global compliance requirements and ensuring procurement activities align with organizational goals.
- Experience in working with with suppliers, performing risk assessments, supplier document validations and setup in ERP system.
Preferred Professional And Technical Expertise
- Familiarity with other procurement applications including Bond, CAAPS, SAP Ariba procure to pay, ServiceNow, Data Analytics tools, ERP Knowledge.
- Good with MS Excel , MS Powerpoint.
- Experience with AI tool will be added advantage.
