The impact you'll make

As a Supplier Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Lam, you'll make an impact in ensuring suppliers manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards by designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs. You design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes and finished products onsite at our global suppliers locations. By analyzing production data, you identify trends and partner with the supplier to resolve technical, quality and production challenges. Your expertise will help develop excellence in supplier product inputs supporting Lam's commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products.

What You'll Do

  • Developing Suppliers to meet Lam quality standards
  • Interfacing with key teams within Lam including technical product groups, account teams and global operations as a representative of SET
  • Influencing decisions and company driven objectives within internal and external groups to achieve company goals
  • Provide seamless interface with SET global commodity heads to account teams and other members of SET
  • Providing leadership to supplier engineers within Lam as a cross functional team leader
  • Organizing and owning internal and external Review Meetings
  • Authoring and implementing new and updated Business Processes/integration to SET global ops business processes
  • Presentations/communications to senior executives internal and external to SET
  • Define and clarify technical issues with customer installed tools and be able to clearly communicate the issues
  • Able to provide key Technical Analysis for Problem Solving process
  • Build key relationships with both the account team, customer, suppliers and factory members
  • Leads, and is personally accountable for, high-profile project timelines and milestones.
  • Continuously working on process improvement and developing Best Known Methods
  • Work closely with test engineers to provide an optimum trouble shooting methods
  • Perform standardized supplier quality audits and administer supplier quality scorecard for existing suppliers to promote continuous improvement.

Who We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in supplier process development & quality management
  • Strong problem solving and experience solving complicated problems in the areas of mechanical and mechatronics engineering
  • Have working knowledge of 6S/8 Wastes, 8D, RCCA, Failure Analysis, Ishikawa diagrams, 5-Why
  • In-depth understanding of equipment and component manufacturing processes of Semiconductor equipment system (Wafer handler, Process module, EFEM, vacuum systems)
  • Basic understanding for workmanship standards especially, assembly process, cable routing, sheet metal, Machining, welding and powder painting
  • Experience in supplier development, transition and qualification to support localization activity including sub-tier supplier qualification
  • Proven track record of managing technical projects to completion while accomplishing goals
  • Energetic and goal-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to align cross-functional teams across multiple departments to achieve goals
  • Ability to track and organize multiple concurrent activities

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. On-site Flex you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. Virtual Flex you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
