We are looking for a Supply Chain Expediting Consultant who will be responsible for diagnosing supply chain bottlenecks, restoring delivery performance, and stabilizing supplier operations to ensure business continuity for strategic aerospace programs.
The consultant will work on-site with critical suppliers, collaborating closely with procurement, supplier performance management, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain Diagnosis
Conduct a rapid operational assessment of supplier performance and supply chain constraints.
Deliverables include:
- Perform root cause analysis of supply chain disruptions impacting delivery performance.
- Conduct capacity vs demand assessment at supplier production sites.
- Analyze:
- Production backlog
- Commitment reliability
- Production flow constraints
- Systemic blocking points.
- Evaluate customer impact risk for programs.
- Develop a structured portfolio of critical part numbers, including:
- Prioritization criteria
- Lines of Balance (LOB)
- Baseline supplier performance metrics.
- Cross-analyze initial list of critical components and refine prioritization.
- Develop and present a validated Recovery Action Plan including:
- Corrective actions
- Owners
- Required resources
- Milestones
- Recovery trajectory.
2. Recovery Plan Deployment
Drive execution of the recovery strategy at supplier sites.
Key activities:
- Implement a joint governance structure, including:
- Weekly operational reviews
- KPI tracking
- Escalation mechanisms.
- Establish measurable Supply Chain Performance KPIs, including:
- On-Time Delivery (OTD) on critical components
- Commitment adherence
- Production reliability
- Delivery flow vs demand.
- Coordinate recovery actions across:
- Production planning
- Procurement
- Logistics
- Quality teams.
- Proactively identify and escalate risks and blocking points.
- Ensure execution discipline of the recovery roadmap.
3. Stabilization and Exit
Ensure sustainable performance before completion of the assignment.
Deliverables include:
- Develop a formal transition plan, including:
- Handover to Supplier Performance Managers (SPM)
- Remaining risks
- Governance model.
- Integrate medium and long-term improvement initiatives into supplier continuous improvement roadmap.
- Produce a Return on Experience (RETEX) report, documenting:
- Root causes of disruption
- Lessons learned
- Structural improvement recommendations.
Governance & Reporting
The consultant will:
- Provide weekly written progress reports including KPI dashboards.
- Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders.
- Escalate critical risks immediately.
- Coordinate activities across sites and supplier locations within the scope.
Required Skills & Experience
Professional Experience
- 10+ years of experience in industrial supply chain management, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing.
- Proven track record in supplier recovery, expediting, and crisis management.
- Experience working on-site with international suppliers.
