Job Overview:Third Party International (TPI) is seeking a Supply Chain Consultant to support a manufacturing supplier in Penang, Malaysia. This part-time, contract role is ideal for an experienced professional with a background in lean supply chain management, supplier performance improvement, and operational efficiency.
The consultant will work closely with supplier leadership and internal teams to assess current practices, identify inefficiencies, and implement sustainable improvements in delivery performance, inventory control, and process flow.
Key Responsibilities:- Work with Client and Supplier to improve communication about issues affecting quality and delivery
- Review and analyze current supply chain and production workflows to identify bottlenecks, waste, and improvement opportunities.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI tools to drive operational improvements and reduce lead times.
- Support initiatives to optimize inventory, scheduling, and supplier reliability.
- Train and coach supplier staff on continuous improvement principles and best practices in supply chain management.
- Develop actionable improvement plans with measurable KPIs and track progress over time.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure improvements align with customer expectations and operational goals.
Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing operations, or process improvement roles.
- Experience with Electronic or mechanical component manufacturing
- Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and Inventory Optimization techniques.
- Experience driving performance improvements directly with suppliers.
- Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to influence teams at all levels.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in Malay or Mandarin is a plus.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Malaysia or as an international contractor.
