Key Responsibilities and Job-Related Characteristics:
Imports planning process and systems
- Represent Supply Chain team to work with Brand Owner Companies to provide the service and financial expectations.
- Product life cycle management including new product implementation tracking.
- Manage stock risks and opportunities and communicate to relevant stakeholders for decision-making and actions
- Advise and guide the business on annual allocations from the Brand Owner Companies.
- Manage stock transfer planning between multiple warehouses to provide optimal stock cover.
- Develop and optimise supply planning activities and processes to ensure stock coverage are in line with forecast sales requirements and agreed stock and financial level targets.
- Determine order requirements, place purchase orders and track supply statuses for finished goods in the designated systems (Anaplan DDMRP, Enterprise One and Connect).
- Maintain information and prepare the performance reports that include (but not limited to) the following information/reports as per agreed timeframes:
- stock on hand reports
- days forward coverage reports
- stock replenishment plan from Brand Owner Companies
- stock exceptions and/or risks
- supply transit times
- shipping forecasts
- imported product SKU map
- container importation and optimisation
- imports planning KPIs
- quality and safety deviations
- transitional and product master data exemptions
- Responsible for:
- purchase orders to Brand Owner Companies
- shipping details
- product codes
- invoice/supply status update
- intra-warehouse transfers requirement to Logistics
- Ensure all product purchase orders are receipted and acknowledged.
- Liaise with Brand Owner Companies regarding projected shipping dates, amendments to purchase orders and shipping advice and communicate to the relevant stakeholders on incoming stock situation.
- Monitor shipping schedules, airfreight shipments and ETAs via designated systems (Project 44), and ensure updated in the ERP system.
- Calculate, maintain, order and replenish mother stocks (Bill of materials) for value-added packings.
- Notify relevant stakeholders to maintain correct contact details for all finished goods suppliers.
- Maintain supplier catalogues, supplier/item cross references and supplier/item relationships in the ERP system.
- Maintain and enhance key relationships with all Brand Companies and ensure value-add opportunities are implemented to improve the level of service.
- Participate in Supply Review organised by Brand Owner Companies.
- Report and manage Supplier delivery performance.
- Report and manage stock performance measures.
- Develop and maintain work instructions to facilitate back-up by other team members during periods of absence.
- Maintain an understanding of other team members processes to facilitate back-up during their absence.
Drive system improvements
- Focus on improving planning systems and processes to reduce non-value add items.
- Participate and bring to life any new system implementations.
Ad Hoc Support
- Involvement in ad hoc projects focused on specific tasks.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Degree holder with formal business qualifications or equivalent
- 5 years planning experience in FMCG industry.
- Competency in spoken and written English is a must.
- Competency in Mandarin, Cantonese and Chinese dialects is an advantage
- Exposure to a sales / marketing, operations / inventory planning or finance background
- Analytical & Planning ability
- Quality decision making and problem solving ability
- Able to set priorities and communicate effectively
- Able to work at a fast pace to cope with a fast changing environment
- Adaptable to managing change
- Able to build strong working relationships
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets
- JDE experience is an added advantage
- Experience of collaborative planning activities with major customers
- Experience in Demand Planning is an added advantage
- Good presentation and project management skills
