Job Summary: Responsible for managing and supervising a team of CNC machinists, technicians, and operators within the CNC Turning and Milling section for sheet plastic manufacturing. Ensures production of high-quality machined plastic components with a focus on quality, output, safety, and 6S across the full production lifecycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- As a supervisor, set priorities for the team, drive results across boundaries, ensure an inclusive work environment, develop employees, and manage performance.
- Supervise daily activities of CNC Turning and Milling operations for plastic component production.
- Assess personnel and material levels to determine production schedules; assign personnel and monitor workflow through the manufacturing facility.
- Establish operating policies and procedures; coordinate multiple functions to ensure production schedules are met within quality and cost objectives.
- Responsible for overall safety of personnel, company assets, and the surrounding environment.
- Plan and schedule daily tasks; exercise judgement on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices.
- Act as first level of defence for machine troubleshooting and process issues prior to escalation.
- Oversee CNC programming and setup for turning (lathe, turn-mill) and milling operations on plastic materials.
- Monitor and enforce cutting parameters optimized for plastic substrates to prevent melting, chipping, and dimensional issues.
- Ensure quality standards are met; oversee the use of CMM, surface roughness testers, and other measuring equipment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives including cycle time reduction, waste minimization, and process optimization.
- Train and mentor operators and machinists on CNC operations, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Engineering for new product introduction (NPI) and process validation.
- Maintain machine maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective actions.
- Perform other related duties as required.

- Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems: SolidWorks, SolidCAM, Cimatron, and Alphacam.
- Knowledge of plastic material properties and machining characteristics.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Plastic manufacturing related experience is an advantage.
Educational and Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Machining Supervisor or Manufacturing Supervisor.
- Degree in any engineering discipline, preferably EE, Mechanical, or Mechatronic, with experience in managing technicians in a manufacturing or engineering field.
- Able to work shift.
- Experience in precision machining (CNC Turning & Milling) of plastic materials.
- Experience with surface treatment processes and clean room assembly is an advantage.
- Able to interpret mechanical drawings.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, SolidCAM, Alphacam, Cimatron) — advantage.
- Working in ISO 9001:2015 environment organizations.
