Internal Job Title : Senior Executive, Group Sustainability

Department: Group Sustainability, Corporate Services

Reports to: Head, Group Sustainability

Work Location: Plaza OSK, KL

ROLE POSITIONING & OBJECTIVES:

The person in this role will work alongside the rest of the Group Sustainability (GS) team and with respective businesses in developing the Environmental, Social & Governance strategy and initiatives across the group and monitor the overall progress in order for the Group to achieve its sustainability goals.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN:

  • Support identification, development, implementation and monitoring of progress for sustainability initiatives across the group through collaboration with various business unit and group functions
  • Support the Group Sustainability team in collation, ensuring accuracy and monitoring of sustainability performance e.g. Scope 1, 2 and 3 emission for the various business units and functions in the groups and reporting to the management and board on progress against targets
  • Work with the GS team in the development of annual sustainability reporting, the necessary disclosures and ensuring compliance with the relevant reporting requirements and framework
  • Support the GS team in the assurance process for sustainability and ESG disclosures, including preparing documentation, engaging with internal/external assurance providers, and ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with reporting standards.
  • Support the GS team in the preparation in preparation of sustainability framework, relevant business policies and presentations for Board and Management updates
  • Assist the Management in keeping abreast with the ongoing development of ESG matters related to the Group's core businesses and benchmarking of best practices
  • Assist the GS team and line manager on ad hoc projects and other assignments as required

ESSENTIAL, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Be a self-starter who takes ownership of tasks and is a team player committed to achieving common goals.
  • Have the confidence to conduct research and possess good organizational and analytical skills to handle numerous data sources, inputs, and data gaps concurrently.
  • Possess the ability to design and execute a logical phased approach to understand emerging sustainability issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies.
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite of software products.
  • Able to effectively translate recommendations and ideas into reports, presentation materials, proposals, and other written communications.
  • Be technically proficient in advocating sustainability and passionate about helping business units become more sustainable.
