Join our team as a System Engineer and play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting in-house software solutions that meet business needs and align with the Company's information system architecture. You will provide first-level application support and maintenance, manage electronic data services, and work closely with users to deliver reliable and efficient technology solutions that enhance business operations.
Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate off-the-shelf software based on users requests and business requirements.
- Gather, analyse and document user requirements, and translate them into system specifications.
- Design, develop, implement, maintain, enhance and support in-house automated systems and reporting tools, including debugging system issues.
- Ensure the availability and performance of in-house application systems and Microsoft SQL database servers.
- Perform administration and maintenance of Microsoft SQL database servers.
- Develop, enhance and support in-house reports and electronic data services.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timely delivery of reports and electronic data.
- Liaise with external software vendors for system implementation and validate system functionality upon deployment.
- Participate in the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of applicable ISO management systems.
- Ensure compliance with established ISO procedures and support internal and external audits.
- Support the Company's occupational safety and health, quality, environmental and information security objectives.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and assist in corrective and preventive actions in accordance with ISO requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years relevant working experience in system design and software development.
- Experience in Visual Basic, Visual Studio 2003 or later, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or later.
- Knowledge of the .NET environment (VB.NET or C#/ C#.Net).
- Knowledge of mobile application development (iOS or Android) is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiar with Windows Server 2000 or later.
- Good analytical, documentation and communication skills.
- Able to work independently, self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies with minimal supervision.
