System Engineer

Join our team as a System Engineer and play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting in-house software solutions that meet business needs and align with the Company's information system architecture. You will provide first-level application support and maintenance, manage electronic data services, and work closely with users to deliver reliable and efficient technology solutions that enhance business operations.

Responsibilities

1. Source and evaluate off-the-shelf software based on users requests and business requirements.
2. Gather, analyse and document user requirements, and translate them into system specifications.
3. Design, develop, implement, maintain, enhance and support in-house automated systems and reporting tools, including debugging system issues.
4. Ensure the availability and performance of in-house application systems and Microsoft SQL database servers.
5. Perform administration and maintenance of Microsoft SQL database servers.
6. Develop, enhance and support in-house reports and electronic data services.
7. Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timely delivery of reports and electronic data.
8. Liaise with external software vendors for system implementation and validate system functionality upon deployment.
9. Participate in the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of applicable ISO management systems.
10. Ensure compliance with established ISO procedures and support internal and external audits.
11. Support the Company's occupational safety and health, quality, environmental and information security objectives.
12. Identify opportunities for improvement and assist in corrective and preventive actions in accordance with ISO requirements.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum 2 years relevant working experience in system design and software development.
3. Experience in Visual Basic, Visual Studio 2003 or later, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or later.
4. Knowledge of the .NET environment (VB.NET or C#/ C#.Net).
5. Knowledge of mobile application development (iOS or Android) is an advantage.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
7. Familiar with Windows Server 2000 or later.
8. Good analytical, documentation and communication skills.
9. Able to work independently, self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies with minimal supervision.
