The Systems Architect provides strategic architecture leadership in designing and governing technology solutions that align business objectives with enterprise technology capabilities. The role is responsible for defining target-state architectures, solution standards, and technology roadmaps that deliver scalable, secure, integrated, and sustainable systems to support business growth, operational excellence, and digital enablement.
Working closely with business, transformation, and technology stakeholders, the Systems Architect translates strategic priorities into practical solution architectures and implementation approaches. The role leads application modernization, system integration, platform evolution, and technology transformation initiatives while ensuring architectural consistency, governance, and long-term technology sustainability across the organisation.
Job Requirement
- Define and govern solution architecture standards, principles, and reference architectures to support organisational objectives, technology strategy, and transformation initiatives.
- Develop target-state application, integration, data, and technology architectures that deliver scalable, secure, resilient, and sustainable business capabilities.
- Provide architecture leadership and assurance across technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles, technology standards, and strategic priorities.
- Partner with business, transformation, and technology stakeholders to translate business requirements and strategic objectives into practical solution architectures and implementation roadmaps.
- Lead architecture design and integration activities, ensuring interoperability, consistency, and effective integration across enterprise platforms and services.
- Drive application modernization, platform transformation, and technology refresh initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, maintainability, and business agility.
- Evaluate technology options, architectural approaches, and solution designs, providing recommendations that balance business value, risk, cost, and long-term sustainability.
- Govern architecture compliance throughout the solution lifecycle, ensuring adherence to established standards, security requirements, and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, architects, analysts, engineers, and technology partners to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Monitor emerging technologies, architecture trends, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation, optimization, and continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 8–10 years of experience in system architecture, solution architecture, application design, systems integration, or technology engineering, including at least 3–5 years in a senior architecture or technical leadership role delivering complex technology solutions within the financial services industry.
Preferred:
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale applications, integration platforms, APIs, cloud solutions, and distributed systems.
- Experience in application modernization, platform migration, system integration, and technology transformation initiatives.
- Experience working in regulated industries, preferably within financial services or takaful industry.
- Professional certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect, Open Group certifications, or equivalent architecture credentials is an added advantage.
