Key Responsibilities

• Tax Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and review tax returns for employers and individuals, ensuring compliance with Malaysian employment and personal income tax regulations.
• Client Liaison: Draft correspondence and communicate with clients and expatriate individuals to gather information and clarify requirements for tax reporting.
• Regulatory Interaction: Under guidance, liaise with the Malaysian Inland Revenue Board (IRB) on administrative procedures, including tax filing, appeals, and refund status.
• Engagement Management: Support engagement teams with administrative tasks such as background checks, risk assessments, engagement tracking, and billing.
• Research & Knowledge Application: Conduct research on employment tax matters, stay updated on changes in tax laws, and apply insights to daily work.
• Expatriate Support: Assist with entry/exit tax briefings for expatriates as needed.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with engagement teams to ensure timely delivery of tasks and contribute to a high-performing, inclusive environment.
• Ad Hoc Support: Handle additional tasks as required to support client and team needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in related disciplines such as Accounting/Finance or Professional Qualification with a minimum CGPA of 3.20.
• Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Ability to handle a high volume of work with speed and accuracy.
• Possess good organizational skills and able to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
• Possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
• A strong team player and willing to share responsibilities as a team.
• Candidates with previous individual tax compliance work experience will have an added advantage.
