Work you'll do

This is an in-house tax role to support the Tax Senior Manager/ Tax Director in managing the tax matters comprising compliance, reporting and accounting for all Deloitte Consulting (DC) South East Asia (SEA) legal entities and cross border issues.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Collate information and data for tax agents (where applicable) and review the tax computations to ensure timely submission of corporate tax returns for DC Malaysia entities, including other DC SEA entities.
  • Prepare and provide tax provisions of DC SEA entities tax liability for annual management & statutory reporting purposes of DC SEA entities.
  • Review tax accounting entries and collaborate with the Finance Operation team in the maintenance of all tax related GL balances.
  • Assist with the compliance of withholding tax. Review and support Finance Operation team to verify the tax exposure for payment purposes.
  • Assess the stamp duty exposure on applicable instruments, manage the submission and advice on the stamp duty implications.
  • Review compliance of transfer pricing (TP) rules for related parties transactions and update TP documentations.
  • Analyze and propose strategies to mitigate tax liabilities of the DC SEA entities by effectively manage/coordinate the projects assigned to the entities.
  • Monitor, check, review and propose contract exposure to minimize tax cost and ensure that tax rights, obligations and risk of the DC SEA entities are well protected and managed.
  • Support and provide technical advice to the Finance Operations team as and when required.
  • Work and interact effectively with both tax and non-tax colleagues, the engagement team, and collaborate with other finance functions and external advisers.

Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Finance or Accounting
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • 5+ years experience in similar role
  • Worked in a professional experience services or professional tax organization dealing on tax matters
  • Ability to meet travel requirements, when applicable

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Familiar with the entire Microsoft Office Suite & SAP Finance
  • Dedicated, innovative and resourceful
  • Must display professionalism and confidence
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
