Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Tax Analyst to join our APAC tax operations team on an 18-month contract basis. This is an SSC-embedded, hands-on operational role supporting direct and indirect tax compliance across multiple APAC markets.
The successful candidate will have a solid foundation in corporate income tax (CIT), VAT/GST, withholding tax (WHT), and other taxes, ideally gained within a shared service or regional finance environment. You will work closely with the Group Tax team, GFS colleagues, CFOs/Finance Business Partners and 3rd Party outsource providers
Key Responsibilities
Direct Tax & Compliance
- Plan, prepare and review underlying accounting information used to prepare AZ's tax returns (direct and indirect) across multiple APAC markets.
- Support the quarterly and year-end deferred tax and tax provision process, including reconciliations for Group statutory reporting.
- Analyse transactional data using AZ's data analytics capability to identify tax-sensitive items, including fixed asset categorisation, intercompany transactions and others.
- Support Group Tax with information for ad hoc requests, including significant tax transactions or tax audits.
- Oversee transactional data collection, accountable for coordination, review to ensure that the outputs meet tax requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of the quarterly, year-end tax provision for Group statutory reporting purposes, ensure controls framework is in full compliance.
- Deliver process excellence, governance and controls.
- Support Global Tax and Finance Transformation initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the outsource provider and other Finance stakeholders to support delivery of local tax requirements.
- Contribute to tax process improvement, standardisation, and digital/automation initiatives as part of the SSC's continuous improvement agenda.
Essential Requirements
- 6–8 years of relevant experience in Tax and Finance.
- Prior experience in a Shared Service Centre (SSC), regional finance hub, or BPO/outsourcing environment strongly preferred.
- Hands-on SAP with strong data extraction and transactional analysis skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple compliance deliverables across concurrent tax periods and jurisdictions.
- Comfortable working across diverse, cross-functional, and cross-border teams including finance, legal, and external advisors.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English; ability to present technical tax matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Professional tax or accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience with AI-assisted tools and automation initiatives within the tax or finance environment is preferred.
- Willing to work on a short-term contract of 18 months.
