We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Associate to join our tax team. In this role, you will assist in preparing and reviewing tax computations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing quality tax advisory services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and review of tax computations and tax returns for individuals, companies, and other entities.
- Review supporting documents and information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Assist in various tax advisory engagements, including transfer pricing, tax planning, corporate tax advisory, and other related tax matters.
- Conduct basic tax research and stay updated on the latest tax legislation, regulations, and industry developments.
- Liaise with clients and relevant authorities in relation to tax matters and assist in resolving tax-related issues.
- Support senior team members in handling tax audits, investigations, and other tax compliance matters.
- Maintain accurate and organised documentation and filing for all tax-related assignments.
- Assist with other tax-related duties and assignments as required by the Tax Manager or Supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or a relevant professional qualification or certification such as ACCA, CTIM, or equivalent.
- At least 1-3 years of relevant working experience in tax compliance, tax advisory or a related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Malaysian taxation or a strong willingness to develop expertise in the field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
