The Tax Executive is responsible for handling tax compliance, tax planning, and advisory matters for clients. The role requires a good understanding of Malaysian tax regulations and the ability to manage multiple assignments within deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review tax computations, tax returns, and supporting schedules for individuals, partnerships, and companies
- Ensure timely submission of tax returns (e-Filing) in compliance with Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDN) requirements
- Handle tax queries, audits, and investigations from LHDN
- Assist in tax planning and advisory services to clients
- Liaise with clients and authorities on tax-related matters
- Keep updated with the latest tax laws, regulations, and guidelines
- Support senior team members in managing client portfolios
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of tax records
- Assist in SST-related matters (if applicable)
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
- Perform ad-hoc assignments and special projects as assigned by management from time to time
- Assist in any other tax-related or administrative duties as required
- Support the team during peak periods to ensure timely completion of assignments
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in taxation (audit firm experience is an added advantage)
- Familiar with Malaysian Income Tax Act and tax compliance procedures
- Knowledge of tax software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications (Added Advantage)
Member / pursuing professional qualification such as:
- ACCA
- CPA
- MICPA
- Member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)
- Experience in handling tax audits and appeals
- Exposure to SST / Transfer Pricing
